actual peace would mean a lot less people dying. Any peace that holds - where the result is something both sides politicians can tolerate (compromise) is better than continued war.
If Ukraine was non-aligned like India would that be bad? I think it would be good.
Better than Russia fighting on across the map to remove the nationalists in the west of Ukraine and the NATO supported political regime. The russians can tolerate EU membership but not NATO I think the longer NATO fights to an inevitable defeat in Ukraine the worse it is for Ukraine and for NATO.
The Democrats and hegemonic hawks did not want another military defeat right before an election and the weather and Israel escalation has dealt a blow to their hubris with respect to the Ukraine war.
