db we all know that Oil & Gas is a highly volatile and speculative area.
As such, the small exploration players have a tough time surviving and raising capital before (if) they hit the motherload.
You seem to imply deception on the part of MEO management. MEO have never hidden the 32% GCOS nor could they legally. I've reminded others in HC of it from time to time, and even quoted from the annual report, which clearly states that Artemis is a 'wildcat' exploration i.e in unproven area but adjacent to a proven area.
Rampers and enthusiasts from time to time have downplayed these facts but if people selectively chose to ignore the facts it is hardly management's fault. Nor do I blame management for seeking to raise capital to survive.
Should they take their bat and ball and go home? I think not.
Stuff happens.
Like many others I am sitting on a paper loss, and have tax offsets in train to soften the blow. O&G is not for the faint hearted but we need to keep a clear head as well. A disaster would be a complete collapse in the SP. This is not on the cards IMO. DYOR
