Platinum and Palladium are more and more sought after as Investment Bullion, Jewellery, Yes Catalysts..and not just in the automotive arena..fuel cells, Medicine..Platinum has anti cancer drugs made from it. Electronics also use Platinum....your computers hard drive may be coated in it.
Nano Technology is finding more use for it..there are heaps more things and PGM's as a general statement constitute only 1%!!! of the Earths crust..far rarer than Gold or Silver. Still wish I had bought some Palladium at under $300/oz not so long ago now pushing $700 again.
