The stock is also up 50% over the past year and 35% over the year to date, and that is even after the forward guidance was torpedoed by a supply problem stemming from Synlait.
By comparison the ASX200 and the NZX50 are both only up around 7-8% this year, and ~20% over the past year.
We can all agree that management needs to confront the capital management issue, then return some of it to shareholders.
We can also all agree that they need to open up and say what the issue was/is with Synlait, what impact it is having, and what they are doing about it.
Now that is out of the way, what else specifically would you be doing differently if you were management?
So far, the answers seem hopelessly vague (uhh make the SP go up) or things that management are already doing in some form or another. Come on, let's have some debate of ideas instead of the usual moaning.
And while we are at it, let's have a reasonable way to assess management's actual performance. For instance, what factors affecting company performance do we see as being outside of management's control vs. within their control?
How will you distinguish good management performance in terrible market conditions vs. bad management in good market conditions?
