There seems to be some confusion regarding what is meant by ZEO HRM (high reactivity metakaolin) vs ADN HRM (halloysite rheology modifier)
ZEO HRM (high reactivity metakaolin) is
not a new product and
does not require extensive validation testing, that a new (halloysite rheology modifier) would need to even to gain market acceptance.
High reactivity metakaolin (and lower grade calcined clay) is being used
at scale globally today.The test work undertaken at Central Queenland
University (CQU) has already proven that ZEO's Toondoon kaolin produces HRM (high reactivity metakaolin); the likes of Holcim (& others) looking to reduce the embodied carbon in concrete, will undertake concrete trials to test mixes for different applications.
High Reactivity Metakaolin
(HRM) is being used today globally to produce low-carbon concrete.
Holcim uses it in their Eco Pact concrete product.
The key is
can ZEO produce HRM (high reactivity metakaolin) at a price that can be work at the scale required, its fair to assume having a 80-90% kaolinite feedstock that does not require wet processing prior to calcination, gives ZEO every chance.
A preliminary feasibility study (PFS) will allow expert third parties to validate the price of the product under a range of scenarios – that is what needs the rigour, not whether ZEO HRM (high reactivity metakaolin) works as a superior Supplementary Cementitious Material in concrete blends.
