Thanks for that asx - I'll work my way through them as time permits.
I love bonsai and always check them out at the Royal Show, but have been successful at killing all but one. I once had a Hawthorn forest planted from self-seeded plants.
The remaining one was given me and is some kind of ficus (could be a Moreton Bay Fig) and approximately 18 years old. Sits in a 22cm wide pot and stands double that height and double that width. The soil is only about 7cm deep and I take very little care of it where it sits in the shade on my verandah, but it is very happy.
Just recently I decided to bonsai some little Australian Ash that self seed in my garden - a forest of them once again - they are very hardy, so let's see how they go.
Cabbie1 - that is one huge basin you keep your tree in!!
