    Tell me why smarty the renewables cannot function on their own?

    Yes it is a problem of the inverters as they follow the existing sinusoidal wave form to match the frequency and stay in phase.

    Lacking is the ability for all this bits of kit to work for themselves,

    Oh and another thing they have the ability to isolate certain parts of the network as needed.

    The point is they have a massive energy source they could not use and the least they could do is report that.
