A new entry into options is slightly risky in terms of losing the options if you do not intend to exercise them but merely trade them. If news drops before expiry, it is a high-risk/reward strategy.
If you intend to exercise the options with what looks to be a $0.032 floor, with the options trading at $0.017 and exercise at $0.015, then there isn't really much risk, as the capital input is the same as buying the heads. If anything, it allows you to get exposure at a cheaper rate, and if terrible news does drop before expiry, then you won't lose as much. For clarity, I do not believe that terrible news will drop. I am very confident in RDN.
You could also be someone like myself with a bunch of options that have been held for over 12 months, and I believe many of the RDNOA holders are in the same boat.
I have enough capital to exercise all options (Hopefully, others do too), and I am simply hoping some big news (Assays) drops before the 25th so I can sell my options and buy the heads. The options will most likely be trading at a discount due to the proximity to their expiry, but I get a 50% CGT discount, so the trading discount doesn't worry me at all.
It's a zero-risk strategy for me as I intend to convert my options regardless, so waiting isn't an issue.
