DEG have looked at the three principal processes for processing their refractory ore: biox, Albion, pressure oxidation. They have chosen pressure oxidation.
It was a few decades ago that Youanmi was processed using biox and the economics may have changed since then. New technology, new processes, new bugs, new pricing for materials - any of these can change the picture compared to earlier optimisation.
It is a good idea to now review biox and consider alternatives.
