Sydney and NSW say G?Day across the USA

Sydney and NSW will play a leading role in next year?s G?Day USA ? the annual promotion of Aussie know-how in the US market.

G?day USA: Australia Week 2011, which gets underway on January 15, includes events in 10 cities across the USA. Events range from a fashion and jewellery showcase in New York to a sustainable cities conference in Los Angeles.

NSW?s main event is the NSW Innovation Showcase: FastPitch in Altadena, California in which seven NSW clean technology companies will pitch their products and services to an audience of potential investors and business partners.

Acting Treasurer and Minister for State Development John Hatzistergos said that during G?Day USA NSW would be promoted as a great place to do business, work and visit.

?G?Day USA: Australia Week is a unique opportunity to showcase Sydney and NSW in the world?s largest market. We will be building relationships with key individuals and networks in tourism, clean technology, financial services and creative industries.

?The NSW Government Business Office that we?ll be opening in San Francisco next year will build on the connections and leads made through G?Day USA.

?The US is a priority market for NSW− it is the leading source of foreign direct investment in Australia and our third largest trading partner.?
