I am not a holder (wish I was). Holders of RIV are in a great position. RIO has placed a bid, there is discussion that the Indians may launch a counter bid, as well as Peobody or Xstrata coming into the picture. The news on the vine is that BHP will not launch a bid, but they did run the ruler over RIV, RIO got wind of this and jumped.

BHP normally does not bid against RIO, but if BHP sees value (as they did with WMC), their normal mode of play is to let the bidding proceed until their is one left, then come in over the top with a counter bid.

Beedee, do not sell short the value that the big boys could see in this. The price could go higher than $20.
