    Tess of the D"Urbervilles

An old series but worth seeing for anybody who has read Thomas Hardy's novels. He must have been a dark, brooding sort of bloke because all his books were like that and set in what he called Wessex, after the ancient kingdom.

    My brilliant Friend

Only seen the first episode of this Italian series (SBS) and I'm hooked already with 4 seasons to go, which follow the story of two girls from pre-teens to middle age at least.
I've no idea what's coming but I just know it will be good.

The Italians have always been for me among the best screen story tellers, equal to any produced by the Brits, other Europeans or Americans.
