Hi all,
For those interested, a relatively new story out (22 Dec 2010) on oilbarrel.com summarising Caza O&G's SW Louisiana's Arran and Tiree operations, entitled: Caza Oil & Gas Prepares To Tackle Its Most Ambitious Target Yet With The Arran Prospect In Louisiana.
For those not yet aware, here's a few quotes:
"...The Marion Baker #1 well [Amazon or Arran prospect] is expected to encounter multiple, potential, hydrocarbon bearing reservoir sections. Netherland, Sewell & Associates, independent reservoir engineers, have given a gross best estimate of unrisked prospective resources of 176.8 bcf and 3 million barrels of oil."
Moreover..."Tiree [Thames prospect] carries an unrisked prospective resource estimate of 75.6 bcf and 1.4 million barrels of oil."
The Amazon and Thames projects in the Bolmex trend, southwest Louisiana, offers some very lucrative prospects with a relatively high probability of success (~35%), and compared with Caza's other current drilling programs in their portfolio, they quote..."If the O.B.Ranch#1 well on the Bongo prospect [Wharton County, Texas] was a step up from the likes of Windham Wolfberry drilling [Upton County, Texas], then Arran is a further step up from Bongo."
These are some huge targets and the spud clock is counting down; approximately 11.5 trading days before anticipated spud. I recall someone on another forum stating they spoke with management in one of the other jv companies, and they insisted that there wouldn't be anymore delays. I trust that's the case and they get that Nabors rig in place and drilling soon.
For coverage of the Amazon prospect per se, click here to find an excellent and detailed overview of this project, which I personally didn't think received the attention it deserved at the time (no thanks in part to the unexpected CR). Following on from Amazon, we have the Thames prospect, and then I suspect attention will turn to QPN's exciting O&G activities in Indonesia (watch this space for developments). Certainly a very exciting year ahead for this current O&G minnow.
Best of luck all and may your new year start with a loud 'thud'...(drill bit spudding the Marion Baker#1 well)!
cheers
