My limited understanding (based on media releases only) was that VDMs current CEO formerly held a similar opposition at Brandrill, and that under his stewardship BDL was a turnaround story following a restructuring after previous management lost its way. There was certainly a dip with the GFC, but KP managed to negotiate favourable takeover terms with Ausdrill in late 2009, to the benefit of BDL shareholders. Would be very interested therefore to hear more insight behind the comment about having run a perfectly profitable drilling Co into the ground during a resources boom.
