Mr Rechner, Kingston's top guy, is a former DFAT diplomat; prior to being posted overseas, he studied geology. He's definitely an impressive fellow. His Dad once had huge chunks in a bunch of ASX explorers; he still does. Incidentally, as an aside, both Rechners own big chunks of SER, a well- run ASX explorer.
You are right Greedy, TLM will have to do deals with Kingston in relation to Kingston's mill. A big positive for both companies. Let's pray for good results from Durnings so this can come to fruition.
About PNG. Rechner & Co have had many, many dramas in their previous forays in PNG. I am surprised they have so much confidence in what they own there, given their past experiences. A billion dollars valuation? They'd need a private army and millions in bribes to politicians to get it off the ground. Yes, PNG is resource-rich. But it's not so different from Mali, which has been in the news recently. Not an easy place to do business.
