It's not just about the increasing costs, but also the lack of real improvement in benefits. Despite significant premium hikes from $120 to $285 per fortnight for myself, the reimbursement for physiotherapy has only increased from $40 to $45 in eight years. While the total coverage has increased from $400 to $750, the likelihood of needing that much therapy is relatively low.
This highlights a systemic issue where health insurers prioritize increasing their profits over providing adequate benefits to consumers. Politicians on both sides seem to be more interested in maintaining the status quo than implementing meaningful reforms to benefit consumers.
Obviously, as a shareholder of health insurer i start getting some return moving forward.. !!!
