Hi Piton, It crossed my mind that maybe there is some contagion crossing over to sentiment regarding Neuren, regarding this event. Even though they are totally unrelated treatments, other than that they treat the same condition, I have seen this contagion effect happen before, despite the only connection being the condition treated, or the industry involved. Two that come to mind are the fall in the Antisense (formally ATL, now PER) share price many years ago when another company in the MS space had a trial death, despite their treatments being totally unrelated, and also the demise of the magnesium industry hopefuls when one of the companies had some hiccups in their production processes. No doubt there are many others also that I was not personally connected to.
As most of us here well know, shorters will use any excuse they can find to create fear and mayhem regarding a company’s share price if they can make a fast buck from it, and once they get the ball rolling it quickly develops an uncontrolled momentum as stops get hit and others start to pile in to take advantage of the situation. The only significant argument I can see against this idea is that Acadia’s share price didn’t get hit nearly as hard as us.. Maybe it is a prefect storm of a number of events, some more unique to NEU than Acadia could explain the different reactions, ie RFK, technically over bought, the length of time to get though the P3 trials, the death of this patient, disappointment that any dividend payments are a long way off, etc. Still it seems highly likely that there is a huge prize there for those who are patient, and if you are patient and prepared to wait and ignore the noise, then a piece of that pie can be yours.
