On cores. Lithium cores do not provide much compared to gold cores. I can tell grade from a gold core, but not a lithium core.
You have this the wrong way around. Lithium mineralisation is associated with spodumene/lepidolite which is easily identifiable in core samples.In contrast, gold is frequently fine grained/locked up in other sulphides and therefore requires fire assay as it isn't visible to the naked eye. A good lithium geo will be able to log lithium grades accurately. Also, lithium can be analysed for directly in the field using a LIBS, unlike gold.
Cores do not provide mineralized width, often no depth.
What do you even mean by this? The field team will meter mark the core, and using downhole surveys will know exactly where pegamtite mineralisation is intercepted in three dimensional space (<10cm accuracy if the drilling team/field assistant is good). Hardly useless?For example you could show the mineralised side of a core, and not the barren side.Maybe if you're drilling down dip and somehow manage to drill parallel to the pegmatite and footwall/hanging wall lithology (not going to happen). RDN will be drilling perpendicular to the strike of the pegmatites and therefore the cores will be composed entirely of pegmatite when they intercept it.
