I simply don't understand an attitude of "I'm not going to watch, read or listen to that because I think it will contain opinions I don't want to hear". Did they have the same outlook when they were at school or university or in the pub? If so they must have missed out so much on what people thought. And if you don't know what other people think, how can you navigate society.
But when it's journalists who adopt this attitude it borders on criminal. Journalists are the gatekeepers of information transaction and imo they have a duty not only to report the truth as accurately as possible but also to be open to all opinion so that they can be open in their reporting.
