Never know when something happens and you decide to take a gamble, yes gamble, and you purchase a share. Always pays to keep your eyes and ears open. I knew nothing, and I mean nothing, about the market, but decided it was where I was going to make my fortune. Was having coffee in West Perth, 2 gents sat at the next table with their laptops. They were deep in conversation about a company. To this day don't know who they were, whether employees or brokers. I kept ordering one coffee after another but wasn't leaving before them. Got back to work, had a quick look, nothing they said equated to what was known. How strange, it was trading under 10c per share. Being the very astute, careful and knowledgeable investor I dived right in. ( Sheer madness). Nothing happened for over a month, traded within a very tight range on low volume. I was looking at making a loss, money I certainly couldn't afford to lose. I'd written down all the info from that coffee day. Then the heavens opened and one announcement, and price and volume took off. All I heard came to pass. Finally sold them about 90cents a share. About 6 years ago on my daily walk, passed a home open and the agent told me that there was going to be a mining boom. Why, because geos, engineers etc were all moving to WA and my suburb was in high demand, close to airport and city. kept saying, are you sure you don't want to sell, because I can get you a really good price for it, above market value. Still in my home, and so it came to pass. Funny thing is at the moment getting lots of letter box drops from real estate agents wanting to buy. Must be a couple of years since the last time that happened. Strange how things happen. Don't just dismiss anything, but be prepared to listen, then make up your own mind.
