I am interested by your view on crypto currencies.
The way I see it now (still a lot to learn about it).
There is a major problem which is the lack of regulation, in particular around crypto market places.
So difficult to say if existing crypto assets are well protected.
But, I also see some major interests vs existing kind of money (fiat currencies) :
- main interest is probably the limited supply of crypto.
My understanding is that supply can grow but technically growth is limited, including by the high cost of electricity now.
This limited supply growth is a major positive when we compare with existing kinds of money where growth is not limited, which explain why the value of money decreases regularly.
- crypto are also not linked to one specific country (unlike USD), while geopolitical considerations become more and more important.
The real problem is probably to value crypto (like for gold), as crypto does not generate any return.
But, I suspect that the lack of regulation puts now a discount on crypto which may decrease (or disappear) over time, as I expect that governments will probably intervene and create some regulation for different reasons (better protect assets for individuals and because governments are talking about creating their own crypto).
