Because of the astronomical money available in yankee land etc, plus the tournaments playable worldwide day to day, it has struggled for a very long time to attract top overseas players. Appearance fees have got some big names in. Distance is a factir too.
Regardless, it is a time-honoured, well-respected and important golf tournament for both men and women. i respect it, many others do too.
My whinge is the combination of the men's and women's into the same format. It compromises so many good things.
I went 2 years ago and got quite bored. There was no fluidity. I want to watch the men hole after hole, not have their tournament interrupted by the 2 other comps.
The same feeling would apply if I wanted to watch the women. I am not sexist.
