Not only does the buy back assist the ratio of buying pressure it also helps to change the sentiment of the retail longs so they feel there is a more level playing field and so hopefully now are willing to support the share price rising to analysts valuations.
This may reduce the need for the buy back over time as sentiment improves and therefore extend it past the projected approx 50 days.
