ok after that metaphysical trip into the universe...
i want to say id dont give a ffk if they are making a 34kw power pack for boats, that can recharge in anything under, ( even if it is paired with a 1000 hp power train ). under a good nights sleep because it irrelevant.
i visited this classic old 70 meter canadian coast guard boat operated in the 30s and 40,s. all steel, small wheel house, cranes and small boat launching rails for while underway , tiny quaint cabins with beautiful old cabinetry, and a full powerstation in the hull. it was immaculately maintained. but what was amazing was they ran it on electric engines not big old ICE engines. I had never seen anything like it. So they made it electric so that it could manoeuver incredibly well. there were no gearboxes. so with the bow thrusters and main engine ungeared, it could go from forward to reverse and sideways was at the captains wim.
But this was all driven by generators, through massive power boards and transformers. it was really impressive.
so it would be great, but to use batteries to run boats is tough. there is no substitute for the power needed. and to be fair....
For the same reason FMG FFI or whatever its called was pursuing hydrogen for trucks., but boat batteries dont cut it. because they need a shit load of power , and there is no point treansfering that from a. generator, to a battery unless you want the luxury of silent operations. which increases emissions.
so let me get back to the main point. the initial post to which i responded suggested they were delivering 1000 hp from these batteries. FOR WHAT PURPOSE.?
