QUARTERLY REPORT FOR THE PERIOD ENDING 30 SEPTEMBER 2002
HIGHLIGHTS
* Bankable Feasibility Study ("BFS") for the Chirano Gold Project in Ghana continues with data collection complete and interpretation and reporting underway. The BFS will be completed in the December 2002 Quarter.
* Major 13,633m drilling program completed. New resource/reserve inventory to be completed in December 2002 Quarter.
* Higher gold grades achieved in diamond twin holes and during In-fill drilling, indicating potential for increased gold output.
* Other BFS components finalised with positive outcomes including plant flow sheet design, water balance studies, tailings analysis, haul road design, plant and tailings dam geotechnical studies, open pit dewatering studies and sterilisation drilling.
* Six month option secured over key capital items for a two million tonne per annum Chirano processing plant, ensuring maximum development flexibility.
