You're right, bubbles are infectious all right but with gold it's a little different, there's no dividend like shares, property or bonds and it has overheads, like storage and insurance.
I remember the 1980 crash and there was no major publicity or herd mentality prior, not like 1987 or the mania leading up to the property debacle.
The property crash was like a train wreck in slow motion but when it comes to gold it's gonna be a lot faster.
The gold and silver boom is investment only, and amount to 'the greater fool theory', where gold owners are only waiting to sell to someone who will pay more.
