Definitely. Not sure why Rio hasn't taken a serious look at Winsome yet. Or maybe they have.Rio has JVs with Midland, Saga. As well as Azimut. All of which have had little to no exploration.Total considerations for a couple of those above include C$115m and $65m for another.. but in exchange for 50% plus an option to acquire more. However Rio would fund to production and cover exploration costs.
But according to Kevvy Rio have no interest in Quebec.
A month after the deal with Saga (July 2024) they immediately began exploration.
