I had this question in a geoscience assignment about where the rest of a magmatic (sulphide) nickel deposit was from some potential drill holes. It looked like it was upside down a trick question.
So, being a smarty pants, I asked the CEO of Mincor after his talk if that was possible. He said yeah. Upside down on its side, separate in pieces, can be anywhere. The strata gets broken and moved over time and we have to find it.
That's why I said I'm happy with both lots of holes looking for the extension of the "black smoker". It may be in bits or funnily orientated. Remember we only drill linearly so largely testing 2D and the sequence needs to be oriented to test 3D.
