Even as an atheist, meaning I am one because I find no compelling evidence for the existence of a God, I find your rationale in that post compelling.

I go along with the notion that most prophecies have been fulfilled.
The crowd favourite, the Book of Revelation was written to give the Christians of the time under Roman persecution hope. Rome not only ceased to be a threat which seemed unlikely at the time. Even more unlikely was the adoption by Rome of Christianity, a religion that it had been vilifying. Rome was the persecuting beast. The prophecies in the book of Revelation have been fulfilled a long time ago.
WW1 and WW2 were indeed linked, with WW1 at least being the cause of WW2 which affected just about everybody on the planet - a truly global war and hence armageddon.
God destroying his own work in Noah's flood is unlikely. The flood is a symbol of God cleansing his creation which apparently needed cleansing.

    Anyway, just my thoughts.
