1. Citi is now predicting a very slight increase in coking prices (to US $216), & a flat thermal coal prices (US $135), in CY 2025 (& further slight fall in 2026).
Also, Citi's SP Target for WHC is $8.30.

If correct on coal price forecasts, WHC will still be making very good profits in 2025 & 2026; & its SP should, IMO, have a significant increase from the current $6.75.

2. The fiercely anti-fossil fuels Vic. govt. has, on 11.12.24, had a significant change of policy. It now concedes gas is essential in Victoria, & Vic. needs to promote & develop its vast gas resources, for gas-fired power. Many Vic. businesses have complained tha tenergy prices have more than doubled in recent years.

Victoria now often relies on its high CO2 brown coal for power. In the future, will Victoria import more thermal coal power from the low CO2 6000 kcal fields in NSW.

The Age 11.12 24 said

"Businesses had previouslywarned they might leave the stateamid a looming shortfall and rising gas prices. But as the industry grapples with the effects of the much-touted electrification program, the government has altered its language to say gas has a role in the energy transition and for business.
