Yes it could be. I know that if I wanted my company to get acquired I would signal that I am wanting (and willing) to go it alone to secure the best premium and negotiate from a position of strength. Jon's comments about them not wanting to become a sales and marketing organisation should counter balance the market's view they are going it alone.
It is clear the view is that they want to add as much value to the assets before being taken out, they have no intention on marketing or selling the drug themselves. The question is whether this occurs now or after the first Phase 3 read out for PMS. The timeline for the Phase 3 readout for PMS isn't as long as people suggest. There is a substantial difference between the time frame of Phase 3 result read-out and the timeframe of submitting and hearing feedback from a NDA submission to the FDA.
It is also important to note the 3 month trial duration and less onerous safety protocols are massive improvements to the potential timeline.
