Great reply ingi,I can imagine half the audience would be asleep watching many preso a day. You wouls mostly find me out near the stands a one of these things. There you could find out what you need to know, walk off if you were bored and i have a sneaking suspicion the stands would be much closer to the bar! Lol!
Why dont you email the company with your best 10 suggestions for designing and opening a stand. It wont seem pushy or aggogant remember you are a marketing guy these guys are mining guys, we all have our specialities and benefit from sharing knowledge. I fully agree with you having had many same but different kind of things, I had market stands as a young guy here and in Sweden, the design and presentation of any stand is most important.
Another thing that would work at a mining conference, a good looking girl giving out brochures, welcoming and indroducing the punters into the stand. We all know that would work dont try to deny it! Lol!
