Not long a Pacific Brands sent a lot of Australian manufacturing jobs offshore to improve their bottom line. Australian retailers do not support Australian manufacturers they source their product and profit from overseas and now they complain that consumers are doing what they have done for years. I worked in Furniture for many years at Myer and the amount of product bought from Aussie manufacturers declined steadily over that time because it was more profitable for the Myer to import the products. Good for Myer bad for Aussie jobs.
