No one seems to be factoring in the fact that the ice engine in a hybrid will have a shortened life span due to the battery....
Eer, Why? There are many reasons for the ICE to last longer in a hybrid than standard.
I'll give you a couple for starters:
The engine can be detuned and any loss of power when needed is provided by the motor/generator. Cold start wear can be reduced because the motor/generator will reduce the torque needed from the ICE when cold.
