Daz, the big guns may well be developing their own, and theirs may or may not work. It's undoubtedly part of their risk assessments & should not be forgotten in each of ours.
But... history is littered with failed products, & even with products that worked but were gazumped by something nearly as good. If you're a big gun would you maybe think of a plan B?
Especially a plan B that is kicking a few demonstrable goals, shows signs of further developmental goals & could be acquired fairly cost effectively should plan A not meet expectations.
Yet as a big gun, am I going to show my hand before I need to? Might I suggest it's not their first rodeo, they know the game & play it constantly.
