Hot Shot Media - The Convergence of Photography and Gaming
by Marla Shaivitz on January 8, 2011
Hot Shot Media has become a leader in the social photography category with a platform upon which photographic social games, challenges, sweepstakes and contests are based.
The group says it lives at the convergence of three of the most prolific online phenomena: social networking, photo sharing and social gaming.
Sites such as Snapshot Scholar, a social photography contest where photos are voted on by the community and judged by celebrity judges, and SnapShotBattle, an online version of the match game, run on Hot Shot Media's platform.
The Hot Shot Media Group was founded in Australia in early 2009 by a group of international entrepreneurs with mutual passion and an addictive fascination for technology innovation.
Members of the Hot Shot Media team were on hand at the Tech Cocktail Innovation Showcase at the CES Tweetup demonstrating some of their latest photo games and contests including SnapShot Scholar, FotoVotr.com and MatchGamePhoto.com. They werel also debuting the new FotoVotr native application that can be found on iTunes and preview a nationwide contest debuting later this year, called Shutterbug Showdown.
