In my opinion much of the criticism directed towards WP is unfounded and unwarranted.

It seems that many of his critics have an unrealistic expectation of an inflated share price, but it's the machinations of the stock market that determines the price, not WP. Afterall, he's spearheaded the company out of the doldrums and provided direction with a significant presence in the medtech hub of Minneapolis in the US, with AVR having developed the world’s first single-piece transcatheter aortic valve called the DurAVR THV for treating aortic stenosis.

The technology already has a proven track record of more than a decade in clinical use and has been distributed to more than 55,000 patients worldwide.

Based on that success AVR is about to negotitate the FDA's final hurdle, the pivotal trial, before expected commercialisation. Whether there's a takeover/merger in the meantime is a thought-provoking question.

But whatever the outcome AVR has to date successfully negotiated a time consuming and expensive process and the winning post is now in sight.

So, what else do you expect of WP?
