Well, it does appear that Namibia is gearing up for a very large oil industry as a result of the drilling success in the Orange Basin. And this report was prepared before the Mopane discovery!

Pretty dry reading, but gives a good idea of the spinoffs from oil discoveries in your country's waters.

Will be interesting to see how Namibia handles this coming huge spurt in economic growth with a total workforce on only 1.4 million people, a lot who are already working elsewhere at the moment.

And it may not have missed the attention of some of the geotechos, that Australia has an undrilled Cretaceous and older targets in the offshore Great Australian Bight Basin, with Cretaceous oil already reported in the past BHPP well Gnarly Knots-1. Drilling by Equinor of Stromlo-1, the first prospect on 3D killed off by the Greens and their deluded followers.
And of course the current ridiculous legislation by Labor, that no more 3D is to shot offshore anywhere in federal Australian waters. ffs!

One day, Australia may wake up.
