Yes I'm aware of who Bowdens is from similar posts on local community pages. Suffice to say the claim "poisonous relationship with locals" is highly exaggerated, most people in the Mudgee region support it - it is a community heavily reliant on mining and aware that the days of coal are winding down.
There is only a small, noisy group against the project who like to spread fear by means such as referring to it as a lead mine. It has a pretty limited impact as half of Mudgee's adult population is exposed to coal dust and silica on a daily basis working at the mines - a little bit of lead doesn't spook them!
