I think that this is just SYA dotting it's "i's" and crossing it's "t's". If you read through the document the main message about what this is all about is:
- "We have identified that approximately 50% of our FY24 procurement spend was on site-based contractors carrying out mining operations,construction and exploration activities at our sites. These contracts often include labour and equipment hire. Using labour hire companies can introduce additional risk factors for modern slavery as recruitment of workers is caried out by other parties. Labour hire in sectors where lower-skilled labour and outsourcing are prevalent such as construction and cleaning have also been identified as higher risk (4)"
From that perspective I have no issues with this at all. Wasn't expecting such a release but anyhow it is just getting the necessary paperwork and policy/guidelines put in place which cannot be seen as negative.
