I have owned KZM off and on .Havent owned it for a good while.KZM doesn't have the financial ability to bring Ashburton to fruition .They basically bought it for free .Clearly DEG is not master of its own fate now .It has agreed to a takeover and it is highly unlikely that any other bids will materialize as the takeover price of DEG is extremely high.So it makes sense that the option be extended to beyond the takeover date of DEG if it happens within the published timelines.Northern star is going to have its hands full attempting to get the hemi plant up and running .It does have the financial resources to do that though its cash flow is quite dependent upon one mine and the POG.The hemi plant is not yet permitted ,one would assume that Northern star has received assurances that permits will go ahead before the takeover.Whether northern star would want Ashburton or the jv with KZM remains to be seen .One would think they would just want to focus on building out hemi ,thats going to be difficult enough ,complicated and expensive without being distracted with peripheral projects.
Kzm is very volatile .I bought it before all the speculation about its exploration the hopes of finding another Fosterville ,it had a great run but the hopes turned to dust.They also had a look for Lithium as I recall and thats a bust also ,so the track record is not good .Better to invest elsewhere I think.
