My guess is that they decided they could raise at a higher SP if PL6 confirms 20nm Maybe even an instos-only CR at a premium. Or a partner cash injection in exchange for future royalties.
The fact that they are spending $1.5m to Infineon tells me PL5 was good and they are very confident of PL6 getting 20nm. Bottom line, is PL6 confirms 20nm then it will be a whole different ball game from today.
