"because you always seem to stick up for the left"

We only see a fraction of a poster's persona on these boards.

In Oz, I am a full ticket LNP voter and have been all my life with never ANY ticks for Labour, Green, Single Issue etc in ANY Local, State or Federal election.

I have an outsider's interest in US politics for the effects they have on us. They have a binary choice there and, whilst I do not agree with many Democrat positions, I'm simply not a follower of the Trump Cult in any way shape or form.

US Voter education seems to be sadly lacking as is any meaningful engagement due to non-compulsory voting. I've always been a fan of compulsory voting as, even if someone chooses to lodge a donkey vote, they still have skin in the game.

"maximising Freedoms, peace and prosperity for the people."

I do have some understanding of economics (consultant Business Analyst in mining in the real World) so no argument there but always in balance.

Whilst in Oz we are IMHO over governed with 3 levels, the Yanks have 50 disconnected and disparate State based systems and such a fear of Federal Overreach that they refuse to allow any beneficial central programmes.

The duplication of services in the US are staggering so a DOGE needs to work at all levels, not just the Feds. Look at their LEOs where each tin pot town would have a local police department with restricted boundaries. Why have State, County and Local LEOs??

Would a single Federal voter ID help the Yanks end the lawyer's picnic that follows every election - Yes !

Will ceding any State power to the Feds ever happen - No.

As to President Milei, he is having wins and losses as he battles without a majority in Congress so has to do deals.

Sounds familiar (Greens & Teals !)
