coal & queensland

I must admit I have really mixed feelings today.

I was watching the news last night and witnessing the scenes in Queensland and it was so sad to see what has happened up there, really tragic.

And then the commentator started to talk about how it was going to affect all of us with the shut down in mines, and insurance, clean up costs etc.

And here am I sitting on most of my portfolio in thermal coal which is likely to benefit indirectly from other people's misfortune.

It is a strange place to be in and I must admit that I feel quite bad about being in this position for some reason...

Anyway hope that it all calms down there really soon, so they can all start to rebuild their lives.
