Some years ago the idea was canvassed on how it may be possible to harvest the excess water of wetter Queensland and divert it to the Murray and Darling systems for the benefit of the dryer areas to the south of Queensland - Vew South Wales and Victoria. I wonder if anyone recalls Peter Beattie's response when he stated emphatically that:
"It rained here so it stays here!"
Certainly thought provoking after the disaster today.
