From an African perspective - I live in East Africa and have visited Mozambique previously - contested 'elections' and protests are so common as to be expected. I get the impression that SYR is using them as an excuse for not delivering. The mine is so far removed from the capital Maputo and center of the protests that there is zero reason they would be impacting SYR's ability to produce anything. The fact SYR has failed to make a single dollar in profit all these years despite all these capital raises and loans and promises actually has little to do with Mozambique and its political issues and more to do with SYR management's 'exaggerations' (to put it politely) and misreading of global natural graphite demand. The only thing left for investors here is a giant dose of hopium...
