I would like to hear the answer to Tradinator's question too, knowing that 60% of ZIP's revenue reportedly comes from merchant fees.
Knowing also that the market is at historical highs, way beyond expectations, with earnings based valuations blown away into insignificance. ZIP has no earnings, nor any assets, what justifies the current share price, given the company's main founder sold the remaining majority of is holdings for $100 mil before a recent sharp fall. He originally sold $54 mil of stock at prices between $6 and $9.81 before the SP sharply corrected.
Of the last 12 Republican Presidents elected since 1893, 11 have suffered a recession during their term in office. Trump's policies are avowed hyper inflationary, the US Federal Reserve has already begun winding back expectations of any further interest rate cuts, and American households are severely stretched. Trump has promised to slash taxes, spend more and deport masses of undocumented migrants, many of which are ZIPs chosen customer base. The US stock market enjoyed its halcyon days in 2023 and 2024, but most agree at best that the current position cannot continue, or that a significant correction is due. Knowing that the stocks with the weakest fundamentals are the worst affected, what impact will this have on ZIPs business, given the heavy reliance on US growth patterns?
