I am in NZ. I pay tax on 100% of my profit, to my knowledge there is no 50% discount here for holding for more than a year. Last financial year I made a sizeable loss. I deducted this loss from my income and got a significant tax refund, which I considered investing in IMU but I ended up buying NEU instead. Got enough IMU and IMUOE.
Some of the posts on this tax position here are a little confusing but I can comprehend what people are trying to convey.
