fluffy I think that is testament to the sheer volume of water and how quickly it rose. I am still trying to come to terms as to how Toowoomba was hit by an "inland Tsunami". It is at the very top of a very high mountain rang so it's not as if the water could have gathered before stricking....so for an event like that in Toowoomba the rain must have been almost supernatural.....
Then of course by the time the waters did gather and raced down the range into the creek below poor old Grantham got a magnified version of what hit Toowoomba.
