I agree, it would be better to have the nickel price up around the 20 thousand mark to make it worthwhile. I do understand the reasoning behind not wanting to deplete the resource if there is nothing to come from it financially. What would the point be.
However as Rick has pointed out a few times there is ways around the tax or the amount but they just have not gone down that route.
The nickel price has gone up and down a lot over the years and still goes up and down even with the Indonesian nickel increasing dramatically in production.
In another year or two the nickel price could well have gone up. I do not have my crystal ball out but this could well be the case.
At this point its hard to see the price going up but it could well do.
We will see. I still like the idea of the refinery. I think BSX need to rethink their idea's on this one. Instead of a big battery manufacturers, maybe they should have been having chats with big miners or recyclers.
